This rainbow appeared on our first afternoon.
We saw the the complete arc! There was also a faint double rainbow.
Then a red fox appeared!

This huge 9-point buck swam a mile across the lake to our cove!
There are many bald eagles in Canada but it was still a treat when this one landed on a tree at the edge of our campsite.
Ahh, and what a campsite it is.....the best in North America in our opinion.
The weather changes often. Some days were stormy, others were nice.
Oh, and the walleye fishing is excellent!

This morning was so calm and sunny that we decided to explore a section of the lake we hadn't been to before. Unfortunately, there was an unmarked shoal of considerable length. It was about a foot deep. The motor made an incredible grinding noise as it hit the rocks. The boat shook like crazy and the motor cover flew into the boat. John quickly shut the motor down and raised it up. When we drifted deeper he put the backup motor down but it wouldn't start for 15 minutes. An hour-and-a-half later we arrived back at camp.
What a mess. Can you imagine the force needed to shear off the propeller and bend it up? So our idyllic escape ended five days early. The new motor is waiting in north Jersey and will be installed in time for us to go salmon fishing. What a summer!
