Salmon Success

 This 27.5 lb. king salmon is the biggest we've ever caught! It was also the first fish we caught.

 It's difficult to pick up salmon especially when they're this big.We fished about 2 miles offshore but always came close to the harbor for pictures. Oswego has an excellent, protected harbor that is busy with pleasure and commercial boats.

 This 26.8 lb. salmon is the second biggest we've ever caught! John could hold his up for the picture but the best I could do was stand nearby. Yellowjackets were all over it in a second.

 The weather was warm most days, sometimes even hot when the wind died down. This one's 20 lbs.

 This one was about 21 lbs. Salmon fishing is the biggest thrill, rush, burst of adrenaline there is for me. First there's the bite, then the fight, then the net, then the whew, it's in the boat! 

 I can pick up this 15 pounder but have trouble with the bigger ones.

 This one's about 22 lbs. We were given 3 fish by people who either had too many or didn't want them, so we filled up the camp freezer in just a week. Our freezer is full now, that's for sure. The fish were not plentiful this year, having been caught during a mild spring and all summer so we considered ourselves fortunate to get one or two a day. Or what I call excruciating boredom broken up by frantic activity!
