John, Irene and Kaj arrived on Thursday afternoon and left on Saturday morning to make it to Detroit for Kaj's basketball tournament. Except for some rain on Thursday evening, the weather was hot and sunny and quite good for outdoor activities.

It was fun and relaxing to have a campfire on Friday evening. Kaj enjoyed quite a few s'mores!

I started the fire after our delicious BBQ rib dinner while the guys went to play basketball. It stays light until around 9:30 PM. Irene, Kaj, Jason and I rented bikes on Friday afternoon and rode all around the campground.

The flowers are opening up on these large lily pads.

Irene and I took a long walk along the harbor and saw all the water birds. You can't see them, but John, Kaj and John are fishing in our boat in the picture above. It was windy and rough and the fishing is not so good this week.

Irene and I enjoyed each other's company.

These swans are magnificent.

On Thursday evening, before the rain began, we headed to the disc golf course. John A. is so good at it he scored below par! Christian and Kaj play, too, and Irene's the spotter. This course was not cleared as much as they usually are and it was buggy in the woods.

We played Wits and Wagers and Texas Hold 'Em.

We listened to music, had lively discussions, threw Frisbees, and generally enjoyed all the park has to offer in just a short time.

Earlier in the day (Thursday) we finally got out fishing with Jason. It was a beautiful day but we only caught about 11 fish - white perch, yellow perch, goby, sheepshead (drum) and one big walleye!

The black-crowned night-heron eagerly awaits scaps of fish at the cleaning house.

Good catch, Marianne.

This 21 inch walleye gave me a good fight.

Disc golf & campfires, alright! Jay, looks like you caught a bit of solar reflection whilst fishing, eh? ;-)
