The Day Before the Race

The day before the race was filled with lots of outdoor fun in good weather. This clean, clear creek was about a half-mile from the farm, a nice walk for the adults with the boys in the jogging stroller. This was also the last half-mile of the race course.

Trenton enjoyed throwing rock after rock into the water.

Those are moose tracks in the mud! There are also turkey tracks which are not easily visible in the picture.

Trenton was thrilled when Grampack found a frog! It was delightful to see Trenton's face light up with joy when the frog jumped higher than the cup's brim.

Now he's following our instruction to "push him on the butt" to get the frog back into the cup.

Oliver was thrilled to be up high on Daddy's shoulders. He, too, loves being outdoors. He looked all around and was interested in everything.

Jim found this helgramite (dragonfly nymph) under a rock in the creek.

Oliver enjoyed his lunch in our camper.

Oliver loves bathtime and our camper shower/tub was just right for the boys' bathtime.
