We finally made it to Fontenelle and the Green River much later than we'd originally planned. There were wildfires in nearby counties earlier in the summer but by the time we got there on August 20th, the weather was good and the skies were clear. The campground of only 3 or 4 sites is free. It's many miles from the main road and many miles from a town. There are more people in Monmouth County, NJ than in the entire state of Wyoming!
John caught quite a few fish, of course.
While he was fishing one morning I walked back to the road. It's easy to see where the river is because that's where it's green!
Another morning I walked onto the dam that separates the Fontenelle Reservoir from the Green River. You can see our camper on the left in the middle of the picture. John was fishing to the right of the islands on the top right of the picture but he's not visible in this view.
