Ahhh, Yellowstone, what a magical, special place of geological wonders and abundant wildlife! These mudpots boil and steam constantly.
Jim is standing by Dragon's Cauldron, a smelly, bubbly geyser.
There are thousands of bison in several herds in Yellowstone and Grand Teton. These people are WAY too close!
Nothing you can do about a bison jam, or a bear jam, or an elk jam....
The elk are habituated to the Mammoth Springs area.

I like this view of the trail as it goes across the ridge. This trail was long and strenuous but we took our time, stopping frequently to take pics and Jim carried all our supplies!
The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone was a quick stop on our way back to camp after our great hike.
The next morning we headed south again and stopped to see the Tetons since the weather was clear.
Jackson Hole,Wyoming has four of these elk antler arches on each corner of the town square. The elk come down out of the mountains to winter nearby on the flats.
